UNBENT is for those who expect to leave the gym unable to move because the pump is that obscene. Where pain from blood flow is an expectation, not a bonus.
UNBENT contains a combination of two patented nitrates in betaine nitrate and arginine nitrate. Nitrates fuel a separate nitric oxide pathway in the body from the Citrulline-->Arginine-->nitric oxide pathway, discussed below. Nitrates are converted to nitrite which are then converted to nitric oxide. This nitrate-->nitrite-->nitric oxide pathway is known to help support reduced blood pressure, improved blood flow, increased oxygen circulation, and cell metabolism. UNBENT includes a full 3,000mg of NO3-T, which supplies a total of 912mg of actual NO3! Additionally, this may help to reduce nitrate tolerance and support the aforementioned citrulline-->arginine-->nitric oxide pathway. The additional betaine supplied by betaine nitrate in combination with betaine anhydrous also supplies the full research-backed dose of 2.5 grams of betaine per full serving of UNBENT.
Glycerol is an ingredient that is both beloved and despised in pre workout supplements. Athletes laud glycerol for its cell-suturing, hyper-hydrating, and muscle-volumizing effects while simultaneously loathing it for its hygroscopic properties, which invariably lead to clumping issues in the tub, and ultimately a product that ends up in the trash can. HydroPrime is highly-concentrated (65% glycerol) trademarked form of glycerol developed by NNB Nutrition that is extremely stable, resists clumping, and mixes effortlessly, making it a prime choice for individuals looking to add glycerol to their pre workout supplements without suffering the irritating drawbacks of other glycerol products. *
L-Citrulline is a conditionally essential amino acid that is a superior option for increasing levels of arginine, even compared to L-arginine -- the “fuel” for nitric oxide production. Being a more potent precursor of L-arginine, Citrulline provides superior support for greater nitric oxide production and vasodilation, promoting greater blood flow and bigger, badder pumps! Citrulline supplementation is also known to help enhance VO2 kinetics, ATP production, fatigue resistance, stamina, and athletic performance.*
Betaine is a naturally occurring osmolyte found in the human body as well as a number of foods common to the diet (including beets). As an osmolyte, betaine helps regulate cell volume and defend against osmotic stress. Betaine also serves as an important methyl group donor. Specifically, its metabolism methylates homocysteine to methionine -- an essential amino acid (EAA) that supports the body’s ability to produce creatine. Human studies on betaine have found that it may enhance endurance and total repetitions performed for the squat, bench press, and jump squat. Additional studies note that betaine supplementation may increase peak power and maximum peak power as well as strength output and lean mass gains. *
Taurine is a conditionally essential amino acid that is stored predominantly in the brain, heart, and skeletal muscle tissue. It acts as a potent antioxidant in the body, and (more importantly in the context of a hard training session) an osmolyte. Essentially, taurine encourages muscle cells to absorb and retain more water, improving cellular hydration, which enhances stamina, delays the onset of fatigue, and further contributes to the “water-fueled” pump phenomenon started by the combination of betaine and glycerol. *
VasoDrive-AP is a novel ingredient consisting of a patented, proprietary ingredient from two casein tripeptides -- Valyl-Prolyl-Proline (VPP) and Isoleucyl-Prolyl-Proline(IPP) -- that inhibits angiontensin-converting enzyme activity. Angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) is a dastardly enzyme in the body that causes vasoconstriction, which reduces blood flow. This impacting nutrient and oxygen delivery to working muscles, depriving them of the essential nutrients required to perform at a high level. Research indicates that the tripeptides contained in VasoDrive-AP promote greater blood flow, arterial elasticity and healthy blood pressure. Collectively, this supports greater athletic performance and stronger, longer-lasting muscle pumps. *
Grape seeds are packed with potent bioactive compounds (including proanthocyanidins) that are known to support nitric oxide production, vasodilation and vasorelaxation. This promotes greater blood flow, oxygen, and nutrient delivery to working muscles. Moreover, the compounds naturally present in grape seeds also aid the metabolism of pyruvate which enhances carbohydrate metabolism and, as a result, anaerobic energy production. The natural polyphenols in grape seed may also help combat oxidative stress induced by intense physical activity. *
Himalayan pink salt is a type of rock salt that provides the body with a premium source of sodium as well as a bevy of other trace minerals, including potassium, magnesium, and calcium. Maintaining proper hydration isn’t just about drinking enough water throughout the day. Hard training also depletes the body of essential minerals, like sodium, potassium, and magnesium. As such, it’s imperative to not only consume enough fluids in and around training (as well as throughout the day) but to also consume enough electrolytes as well. Furthermore, sodium (as well as potassium and calcium) are required for muscle contraction since they are used by the nervous system for the induction of nerve impulses, which leads to muscle contractions. *
AstraGin is a novel complex of highly purified and fractionated Panax notoginseng and Astragalus membranaceus shown in 16 in-vitro and eight in-vivo studies to increase bioavailability and absorption of several key nutrients, including the uptake of numerous amino acids (e.g. arginine 67% increase, citrulline 45% increase). AstraGin may also support better muscle recovery and growth following training as studies on ginsenosides (one of the active components in AstraGin) note that it activates the mTOR signal pathway by regulating upstream kinases in muscle cells.*
